Bullet points:
1. I didn't think it was possible for me to love Wallace more than I did before, but after that episode it seems I do. He's become a really interesting character now that he's moved out from under Veronica's shadow a little bit. He really is sort of the moral anchor for the show, and not in a saccharine and impossible to watch kind of way, either. His line to Jackie—"You don't know what she's been through" was just perfect. Because Wallace knows, and he's not dancing around it anymore. He's still got her back, but he's not going to let her walk all over him, and I appreciate that more than I thought I ever would.
2. Duncan and Logan are such boys.
3. What was up with the psychic lady? Seriously. Jackie said she didn't tell her to say the stuff about Lilly? So...Lilly really is going around haunting Veronica still? Um. (As a side note, that thing about Jackie being the only person alive who knew about Veronica's little breast-enhancing secret? How long exactly do you think Lilly mocked Veronica mercilessly for that one? Heh.)
4. Did anyone else think Logan seemed a little off in this episode? Like, the writers didn't know what to do with him, so they went with an old standby and just had him randomly make fun of Veronica, even if she wasn't around to hear it?
5. So, Jackie's officially this season's Logan, huh? Also? Did anyone not see the "twist" to that MotW coming a mile and a half away?
6. The Logan/Duncan reconciliation is just one more reason I think Duncan would be an interesting character to watch if someone else was playing him. Duncan finally gets up the nerve to go talk to Logan and ask if he just wants to hang out—-something Logan was waiting around for all summer-—but he doesn't do it until he realizes that for Logan, their rift wasn't all about Veronica, even if it was for Duncan. None of that comes across when I'm watching TD's performance. Although, who says to their sort of ex-best friend "Hey, come over and we'll play video games together and then watch our girlfriend go on some psychic's TV show!" Seriously? What was that about?
7. I really really really miss the Veronica who hated attending school functions. Like, really a lot.
8. No new episode next week is STUPID. Also, Wallace probably won't be in the next episode, will he? Not cool. Though, maybe Wallace calling Veronica on her crap and taking off will be the catalyst to shake her out of her stupor? Please? Something's gotta do it soon, right?

Date: 2005-10-27 06:17 pm (UTC)I really, really hope so. It would be interesting also to see whether she'll still have Keith's support, too. Not that he'll stop supporting her ever, but whether he'll be too tied up in other things to be there for her--which I think I saw you mention to someone else. Also, I'm wondering how he's going to end up handling this new bus information, and if Veronica will tell Keith about Jackie's dad and Lamb blackmailing him. Because being at odds over investigating another murder after what happened last year could be another way to drive a wedge between the two of them, leaving Veronica completely on her own. Maybe not having her dad's support for awhile, either, will break her out of this.
