Bullet points:

1. I didn't think it was possible for me to love Wallace more than I did before, but after that episode it seems I do. He's become a really interesting character now that he's moved out from under Veronica's shadow a little bit. He really is sort of the moral anchor for the show, and not in a saccharine and impossible to watch kind of way, either. His line to Jackie—"You don't know what she's been through" was just perfect. Because Wallace knows, and he's not dancing around it anymore. He's still got her back, but he's not going to let her walk all over him, and I appreciate that more than I thought I ever would.

2. Duncan and Logan are such boys.

3. What was up with the psychic lady? Seriously. Jackie said she didn't tell her to say the stuff about Lilly? So...Lilly really is going around haunting Veronica still? Um. (As a side note, that thing about Jackie being the only person alive who knew about Veronica's little breast-enhancing secret? How long exactly do you think Lilly mocked Veronica mercilessly for that one? Heh.)

4. Did anyone else think Logan seemed a little off in this episode? Like, the writers didn't know what to do with him, so they went with an old standby and just had him randomly make fun of Veronica, even if she wasn't around to hear it?

5. So, Jackie's officially this season's Logan, huh? Also? Did anyone not see the "twist" to that MotW coming a mile and a half away?

6. The Logan/Duncan reconciliation is just one more reason I think Duncan would be an interesting character to watch if someone else was playing him. Duncan finally gets up the nerve to go talk to Logan and ask if he just wants to hang out—-something Logan was waiting around for all summer-—but he doesn't do it until he realizes that for Logan, their rift wasn't all about Veronica, even if it was for Duncan. None of that comes across when I'm watching TD's performance. Although, who says to their sort of ex-best friend "Hey, come over and we'll play video games together and then watch our girlfriend go on some psychic's TV show!" Seriously? What was that about?

7. I really really really miss the Veronica who hated attending school functions. Like, really a lot.

8. No new episode next week is STUPID. Also, Wallace probably won't be in the next episode, will he? Not cool. Though, maybe Wallace calling Veronica on her crap and taking off will be the catalyst to shake her out of her stupor? Please? Something's gotta do it soon, right?

I have no idea why Duncan and Logan were watching that show. But they are cute. Teddy Dunn should try acting. :p

Arg, Wallace needs to be in the next episode! I need to know what happens to him. Ahhh! :D

It was a strange transition from the video game to the show with Veronica. Although, Duncan had this hilariously bad awkward sideways glance at Logan when the psychic said the thing about Lilly's boyfriend, so maybe that made up for it. :p

And Wallace! I know! I don't like not having him around.

Hee! Didn't think about that, but she soooo did.

Yup, this is what I've been saying. Okay, in one comment to Tissa, but STILL! And the way everyone is hating on her after this episode is actually making me like her. Still don't like the actress, though, she does something weird with her voice, like she's working a phone sex line or something. She was better when she was breaking down at the dance in front of Veronica.

I really really really miss the Veronica who hated attending school functions. Like, really a lot.
Seconded.

At first I thought you said that the episode next week was stupid, but you said NO episode next week was stupid, which is true.

As for Wallace not being around for an episode or two, his episodes were cut back, right? So I figure it's better that he's not around now than at the end of the season. Like Duncan? I don't think anyone knows his exact episode count, but it's not more than last year and very likely less, yet he's in all the episodes right now? He's gonna be MIA for most of the spring.

I think I saw that comment, and that must be what made me think of it. But come on, showing up to the school dance completely wasted? What happened to subtlety? :p

And you're right, if they're getting the non-Wallace episodes out of the way early, then he'll be around later when it counts. I'll try and keep that in mind next episode when there is no BFF interaction. Also, I rubbing my hands together in anticpatory glee for the first string of non-Duncan episodes.

I really do think that Wallace will be absent and that this is a way of isolating Veronica so that when things blow up with Duncan she won't have anyone to turn to. Her being made persona non grata is the only way I can see for them to bring back "our" Veronica. I wonder if she gets to keep Keith, though. He was the only one whose support she still had at the beginning of last season, so it would only be fitting.

I really, really hope so. It would be interesting also to see whether she'll still have Keith's support, too. Not that he'll stop supporting her ever, but whether he'll be too tied up in other things to be there for her--which I think I saw you mention to someone else. Also, I'm wondering how he's going to end up handling this new bus information, and if Veronica will tell Keith about Jackie's dad and Lamb blackmailing him. Because being at odds over investigating another murder after what happened last year could be another way to drive a wedge between the two of them, leaving Veronica completely on her own. Maybe not having her dad's support for awhile, either, will break her out of this.

I don't think she's really the Logan of S2, partly because her dad seems to be a much more sympathetic character than Aaron Echolls, but who knows? It's still really early I guess, I could be completely wrong. I didn't think Logan was OOC, I took the asides as him being Logan 2.0, the resident OPJ again. I think he's just still hung up on her, but that could be my little shipper heart talking *g*

Oh yeah and apparently there's no new ep because sweeps start on Nov. 3rd...so no new ep till Nov. 9 :P

I think the writers are doing a lot to point out the similarities between Logan's early arc from S1 and Jackie's current arc. Jackie's got attitude and a reason to hate Veronica, and is bitchy to her for thinly veiled reasons. Showing up at the dance hopped up on meds really clinched it for me. I expect her to fall hysterically into Veronica's arms in a hotel lobby any episode now. :p

And yeah, I know there's no new episode because of sweeps starting and all, but it still doesn't make having to miss one next week any less stupid. ;) Grrr. There should always be a new VM! All the time! Never ending! Hiatus? What's that?? :p

I didn't understand the Lilly thing, either. With this and Lilly's ghost saving Veronica from the bus? Guys, I don't want touches of supernatural in my show.

Oh, Logan and Duncan being such boys was always my favorite thing about their friendship. Like their chat about girls who talk, waaaay back in MJS? That was awesome. But yeah, Logan wasn't really all there in this episode, and that bothered me. I'll have him making fun of Veronica anytime, but with a little more on the side, maybe? And Duncan is... weird.

I really really really miss the Veronica who hated attending school functions. Like, really a lot.

Dude. YES.

I didn't mind Lilly's ghost saving Veronica from the bus so much, because that could still be Veronica hallucinating Lilly--almost like Lilly was Veronica's gut instinct or something. But actually communicating from the dead? Nuh uh. I'm assuming (and really hoping) that someone is trying to mess with Veronica's head somehow. Or maybe even Logan's. I dunno.

I'm glad you thought Logan wasn't really there, either. Because he seemed really off, and I can't quite put my finger on what it was about him. Maybe it was just because he just didn't have much to do. I wish we'd gotten a little more out of the reconcilation scenes.

And ohhhh, I hope we get our Veronica back soon. I'm officially tired of this version.

so as soon as I got back from my travels over the past month, I got home to season one waiting for me on my computer because I decided before I left that it must be good if half my trusted and loved flist likes Veronica Mars. So I watched all of season one and am now up-to-date on season two, so I can totally go read what people have to say about the episodes and watch along with everyone else... except of course that I don't have UPN :'(

so needless to say, I'm in love with the show. But I don't like veronica this season-- it's true what they say, she has become an 09er and I really really really miss the old her. It's almost as bad as when I realized that I hated Buffy (the character, not the show) only I have hope for her.
I blame Duncan. I really wish he was her brother, I think that would make things much more interesting.

crap, I need VM icons now. not having them simply won't do.

oh, and as a last note,
I LOVE YOU HEATHER BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Eeeee! It makes me so happy when my favorite people like the same things as me! Yay!

I'm really missing the old Veronica, too, and I'm hoping it won't be too much longer before we get her back. Maybe her relationship with Duncan will implode very soon, and Wallace will be gone and the 09ers will hate her again and she'll have nobody and we'll get our girl back. I'm hoping anyway.

Check out [livejournal.com profile] _jems_'s journal, I know she recently posted a whole bunch of VM icons.

And yay! I LOVE YOU MILLA!! :)
