Can I just take a moment to say how grateful I am that Ann Coulter exists? Because, damn if she's not the most amusing person I've ever had the pleasure of writing a paper about. :p
It's not even a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with her anymore, either. People just hear her name and get all riled up and she calls people names and people throw pies at her and it's all very amusing to me. The paper I wrote last year was all about these people--the ones who like her, but moreso the ones who hate her and do things like show up to protest speeches and stuff. It's amazing to me the amount of energy some people can put into something they hate so much.
Although, I will say that Ann Coulter is rarely civil in the remarks she makes. I think I'd have a hard time being civil back to her, myself.
what better way to show your disapproval of what she stands for, than to stay home? why the need to boo and hiss and act like morons? protest outside if you want, but i don't think there's any need to get in the way of others who may actually want to listen to her.
what she promotes isn't hate speech, so i don't see the need for a 3 alarm fire everywhere she goes. is she crazy? pretty much. but who cares?
I pretty much agree. It's kind of like when someone hates a recording artist so much that they buy all of their records just to burn them--thus giving the artist both money and publicity. Showing up at these things of hers and making a big deal doesn't do much besides reaffirming her relevance.
I think, though, I'd kind of miss her craziness if everyone finally ignored her and she went away. :p
Heh, that woman actually makes me happy that she exists, because she's such a bad example for the conservatives. I'd imagine there are quite a few of them who are embarrassed that she's on their side.
The short version: A member of the American Taliban. An insidious evil of the Right Wing who says horrible, incomprehensible things, and gets away with it because a) she's a hot blonde, and b) sometimes pointing and laughing is just too fun. But some Republicans don't get the joke and are actually taking her seriously.
I hate her and yet cannot stop being intrigued at how fucktarded that woman is. She's like Michael Jackson, only prettier.
