So I'm here in Boston. My uncle went to meet an old friend and I decided to come back to the hotel and crash. We woke up a little before 5am this morning, took a cab to Union Station and then took the Marc train up to BWI. We were there for a few hours and our flight was slightly delayed, but we ended up upgrading to business class, so the flight itself was nice enough. I still kinda hate flying. Although there is something kind of surreal about being so far above the cloud cover that you can't see anything but sky---then descending back to earth to find nothing but a leaky kind of gray, and knowing the sun is still shining somewhere just out of reach.
We went to Quincy Market for lunch and then came back to the hotel for a short nap. My uncle went out ofr a bit and I got to take a long hot bubble bath. We're staying in this funky little hotel across the street from the Fleet Center, which, for those of you playing at home, is where the Democratic National Convention was held last summer. Tomorrow we're going to do touristy things, head to the harbour and see some of North End and all that good stuff. For now, I'm going to crawl under the duvet and maybe settle in with a movie or something. I'm still kind of stuffed from dinner--we ate at a friend of my uncle's place, his friend Alexi made us this amazing Greek dinner, salad and pasta and red wine. Part of me really wants to have an apartment overlooking the Boston harbour so I can light candles and invite friends over for dinner parties.
Anyway, bed time for now, I think. Please forgive any egregious spelling errors, the Internet here is sketchy and I don't really feel like trying to fix them all. Hope everyone has a great weekend! (Let me know if Ewan does anything adorable! ;))
