It is so unseasonably warm here today. It feels like April. I hope this is a good sign of things to come in 2005.

Eeep! It's 2005! I graduate in 2005!

Very quickly, just to keep track:

Favorite Movies of 2004:
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I saw this twice in theaters, and I've seen it a whole bunch of times since I bought it. There is not a single second of this movie that I don't love to itty bitty pieces.

2. Garden State. Though I still am not happy with the last 30 seconds, I love this movie. I need Sunday to be here so I can own it! I saw this one four times in the theaters, and would have gone more, but they yanked it from me prematurely.

3. The Incredibles. I still can't get over how advanced the Pixar animation has gotten since Toy Story. I'm a sucker for good animated movies, what can I say? Also, I still want to see The Iron Giant again.

4. Spider-man 2. I love Tobey, and I loved this movie so much more than the original. And I loved the original. So good times all around. ;)

5. I was looking through my movie stubs (cause I'm obsessive and always save all of them. Seriously, I have the stubs to movies I saw in eighth grade), and I saw way too many crappy movies in the theaters this year. It's sad.

Favorite Books read in 2004:
1. A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. This was the first book I read in January and it was one of my favorites from the whole year.

2. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I read this in my Atwood and Woolf class, and I loved it. I've been recommending it to everyone recently, in light of our current political climate.

3. The Daily Show Presents America the Book by Jon Stewart, et. al. Cause it's too funny not to love.

4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling. Shut up. I liked this book a whole lot.

5. Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri. My creative writing professor recommended this to me after reading one of my stories, and after reading it, I felt highly complimented. :)

6. Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. Cause dude, Americans are gross.

Favorite Music of 2004:
1. Love is Hell by Ryan Adams. Seriously guys, I bought this CD in May and didn't take it out of my CD player until sometime in July. Seriously. I LOVE this CD.

2. Garden State Soundtrack. The reason I took the Ryan Adams CD out of my CD player? Was to listen to this album. And I didn't take it out until around September. :P

3. Angie's Across the Universe J/A mix, Disc One. I listened to this a whole lot while I was getting into Farscape over the summer, so the two are inextricably linked in my mind. (Funny enough, same goes for Extraordinary Machine by Fiona Apple, cause I was listening to that a lot at the time, too.)

4. I would do a rundown of the 600+ songs on my playlist at the moment, because that's what I've listened to all year, but I'm really not up for it. But that's mostly what I've listened to, and so that's what my favorite stuff is. And a lot of it came from you guys, so thanks. ;)

Okay, so it's party time tonight. Friends are coming over and we will have lots of fun. Happy New Year to all you people, and be safe!

And hey, go comment. I'm gonna do them tomorrow. ;)
