Jan. 7th, 2005 01:34 amDue to various suggestions and my own whimsy (hee!), I've come up with a reading list.
Books to read over the course of the next few weeks:
Good Omens, Gaiman & Pratchett
The Alchemist, Coelho
Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Maguire
Life of Pi, Martel
Negotiating with the Dead, Atwood
Still Life with Woodpecker, Robbins
The Colour of Magic, Pratchett
Wonder Boys, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Chabon
The Robber Bride, Atwood
I'll get through the first three definitely, I'm not sure how much past that I'll get, though, before school starts in full swing again. I really want to read all of these books. I have yet another stack of books sitting around untouched that have been begging me to read them for a looooong time, plus there are a few old favorites I'd really like to reread at some point soon. Also, if I'm going to write about war satire for senior sem, I should really reread Catch-22 and Slaughterhouse-Five.
On the other hand, it's nice to have books that I'm excited to read that don't include fifteen-year-old wizards. Cause that whole obsession went to a scary place. ;)
I don't have to be in to work until 130 tomorrow, so I think I'm gonna get up and try and clean my room. It's so sad that I can't keep it neat for longer than two days at a time. I swear it's only books and clothes all over my floor, though. Really. And some CDs. Couple of blankets. A shoebox. And my cool argyle socks. But that's it, really. :P
