I have Placebo stuck in my head.

So for some reason, the Internet in my room was shut off on Friday and hasn't yet started working again. It's really frustrating. There are plenty of things that I could have been doing online! :P

So instead of doing homework or goofing around online, I spent a good portion of my time reading. No, not doing all the reading for one of my three history classes, because that would mean I was a good student or something. Instead, I have finished the fourth Harry Potter book, and am now immersed in Order of the Phoenix. It's kind of weirding me out to be enjoying these books so much, because I fought against them for sooooo long. I'm a snooty English major. I look down on brain candy like this. :P So, I was kind of determined not to like them, but after Racheal dragged me to see all three movies, I discovered I kind of liked the universe, and I sort of wanted to know more about it. And now, it has consumed my life the past two weeks. I'll be glad to be finished this book, so I can go back to...being obsessed with Farscape. :P

Speaking of Farscape, I've seen through What Was Lost: Resurrection. I looooooove Sikozu. I'm not sure why, but I think she's fabulous. It's possibly the walking on ceilings thing? Or the curly red hair. Red heads are the awesomest. ;) Although, at this point she seems kind of like Chiana version 2.0. You know, butt-kicking and kind of mysterious, doesn't take crap from guys, really good with a gun. Or maybe she's more Jool version 2.0. Chiana version 3.0? I don't know. But I'm hoping they give her a little more depth as the season progresses, or at least more than Jool ever got.

But overall, I'm not sure how I'm feeling about S4 so far. Maybe it's the utter lack of Aeryn, but it just isn't striking me the way everything else has. It could also have a little bit to do with the fact that I had no idea what was going on through most of the first two episodes. You know the thing that Farscape does, where it throws you right into the action, and you're left to play catch up? Really frustrating at times. I kept feeling like I'd missed an episode or two and I completely didn't understand anything Noranti was saying. Ever. Nor did I understand the point of the probes. And those red priest people? They were...? Related to humans? So confused. I mean, I get that Crichton is our point of reference and he was confused, too, but still. Sometimes a little exposition is fun. I should be getting the next couple discs this week, and I'm hoping Aeryn is coming back soon? Please? It just isn't Farscape without some serious John/Aeryn angst. ;)

ETA: Ewwww, also? Who decided the Squirrel should be returned to Crichton's face in Crichton Kicks? Cause, yeah. Yeccchh.

I'm going to spend the remainder of my time here in the library reading about a moody fifteen-year-old wizard (OMG Harry shouting at Ron and Hermione makes me SAD!!), instead of doing anything productive. Maybe I'll post again when I come up for air. (Although, I just want to say that I already know the Big Thing that's coming at the end of the book. It's kind of sad already knowing how it's going to go down, but at least I didn't get too attached to Said Thing before the Big Thing happened, right?)

Also? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind comes out on DVD on Tuesday, and I have no money. Pooooooooooooop.

Yeah. Back to being a dork. And singing Special K in my head. :)

i know we haven't talked much,but...
I have kind of a presumptuous inquiry.
You have waxed eloquent rather a lot about this farscape show. i've looked into it and it looks pretty goddamn frabdapulous.
However, in my attempts to attain some, i have found they cost at least 100 dollars, which i do not have.
So, my question:
Do you have access to dvd-burning software/hardware, and if so, would you be amenable to makin' some copies for someone who would crazy appreciate it?
I will send you money or cool stuff in return, i promise:)
sorry if this seems overly presumptuous and assholey:P

Unfortunately, I do not have any cool DVD-burning capabilities, and I only actually own S3, so I couldn't copy S1 for you anyway. I can offer a few suggestion, though.

I've been Netflixing S4. I don't know if you can use Netflix, but it's a pretty cheap way to get through the seasons. The only drawback is that you can only get three discs out at a time, and each disc of Farscape only contains two episodes. But they're fairly quick at getting discs out to you, so you could conceivably get through them fast.

I bought S3 on eBay, which was much cheaper than paying over $100 for the whole thing. You can usually find the complete season or each separate disc for pretty cheap there. Amazon.com might be of some use, too.

If you get the SciFi channel, starting Oct. 4 they are running the entire series, starting with the first episode, five days a week until Oct. 17, which is when the mini-series is airing. So you could tape them and catch up that way, perhaps.

I'm sorry I can't be more help! I got my episodes from a friend of mine who is the ultimate Farscape pimp, and had to send them on to someone else so they could get caught up in it. I will, however, look into getting you some copies so you can see it, too. Because you are right in thinking that Farscape is pretty goddamn frabdapulous. ;) Everyone should be able to see it!

Plus! Look at the hotness that is John and Aeyrn! ;)
